Cubs Insider Exclusive Interview With Former Cub Steve Trout Pt 2: The Shock and the Future

Heading into the 1985 season, following a bitter, dumbfounding, heartbreaking loss to San Diego in the ’84 playoffs, the Cubs were picked by many, not just in Chicago, as the team to beat. Eckerlsey, Sutcliffe, Sanderson and Trout provided a rotation that was simply hard to beat, and the Cubs opened the season with a healthy 35-19 record by mid-June.

Summer Academies

Starting this summer, we invite you to join our team & be a part of the fun. The camp starts first Monday every June and continues through the last Thursday of every August. We play ball Monday through Thursday from 9AM to 1PM at Hamlin Park. We are planning to open a second camp next year at another location to be announced. Every week we will have activities that allow the kids to win autographed items and during the summer we will see a Cubs game for free.

Private Instruction

One-on-one training with Steve can help shape the skills that group participation might not be able to. Private and one-on-one sessions are tailor made to your preference. Steve also will teach the basic 101 of sports to your child for a more rounded sports program.

Academies

Summer camps start in June and end in August. We locate our camps in the Lincoln Park area that will provide players with an experience that is safe, fun and challenging.
